If you're going to purchase a vinyl player don't bother with the colourful portable briefcases. I've gone through three and another average system before realising quality and functionality far outweigh aesthetics.
Previously, the Udreamer Reader Player was our household's dedicated vinyl player - we've had it for years. It's been with us through thick and thin, even an accidental fall that it somehow managed to survive, so parting ways with it wasn't believable.
However, the team at Qlearsoul allowed us to get our hands on the SoulBox S1 Vinyl Record Player to see how we liked it. As soon as it arrived, I was taken aback by just how big it was. My boyfriend and I needed to redecorate the room just to find it a home.
Our previously vinyl player sat neatly on a tall console table while the Qlearsoul warranted the majority of a cabinet top. Following a quick refurb, we finally got it up and running, placing the speakers at its side.
The Qlearsoul is a beautifully constructed and fairly heavy to boot. The cartridge and stylus are well crafted and glide across your records without a scratch, manged by the featherweight fall from the counterweight.

The dust cover is large and spacious for a boxy to show off everything it contains without feeling unnecessary. Some vinyl players have very low covers and it looks sort of untidy and cramped. The Qlearsoul, as previously stated, is very big.
It may be a millennial demand but I couldn't own a vinyl player without Bluetooth capabilities. Thankfully this player does, so the option of blasting my own Spotify playlist has been added to the list of positives.
I'm torn between the size of the speakers. The retro side of me adores the classic touch they bring to the room but I wish they were level to the dust cover, simply to make the player appear more uniform in style. They're not giant by any means, I'm just quite fussy when it comes to appearance.
However, they are incredibly strong, bringing an almighty bass kick and crystal clear quality to your music. Aside from my personal preference on their size, they are absolutely great quality speakers. Some of the best I've had since full radio systems more than a decade ago were still trendy.

My record of choice to test out the player was Chappell Roan's 'The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess' and it was a magnificent option. I've never heard 'Femininomenon' so sharp and clear, packing a huge punch from the increase in bass the speakers offer.
After years of swapping in and out record players and finally settling long term on my favourite, I've made the decision to make the Qlearsoul the new family favourite.
The player is large and I hate that I was forced to accommodate its size through redecorating, but it's been worth it.
Comparing it to my previous players, the SoulBox S1 Vinyl Record Player is unmatched in sound quality, sturdiness and aesthetic. It's a great addition to the room and I'm handling it with extreme care because I want to retain it's mint condition as long as possible.
You can purchase the SoulBox via Amazon here on through the official Qlearsoul store here.
